MUDAB is the primary database for marine environmental monitoring data collected by German federal states and state agencies. MUDAB provides a wealth of information on hydrographic, physical chemical and biological as well as meteorological parameters.

MUDAB data are used to fulfill Germany's reporting obligations as part of international treaties and conventions targeting the protection of the North Sea and the Baltic Sea.

Among the users of MUDAB are federal or state agencies, academic institutions, non-governmental organisations and the private sector. The MUDAB Webclient now provides a comfortable access to MUDAB data for the previou susers as well as the larger public.
